Last Four In: Florida International, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan
First Four Out: USF, Purdue, Kansas, Louisiana
Even though it’s a little bit later than usual, our first bracket of the season is here. No surprise the SEC has 13/14 teams projected in the field with Missouri the only outlier who has a record sub .500 and that will not get you an at-large bid. Georgia Tech, however, sits at exactly .500 (17-17) and they come in as a 3-Seed, but that can change in our next bracket. One of the biggest surprises perhaps is LSU. The Tigers have not had the start they’ve had the last couple of seasons. It will be interesting to see if they can get it together in SEC play this year or they will find themselves out of the Top 16 should they continue to struggle. Grand Canyon is somewhat a surprise as they only have one loss so far. Grand Canyon is one of those non-power schools you expect to see in the Tournament each season, but it looks like they’ve taken a step up.
