3/3 Women's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota

First Four Out: Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Harvard, Stanford

Despite losing back-to-back games, LSU remains a 2-seed. Ole Miss makes the jump to a 5-seed with the chance to earn a top 4-seed should they make a deep run in the SEC Tournament. There have been a few changes in the top 16 overall seeding over the past week as some upsets have occurred. Washington takes Virginia Tech’s place as part of the Last Four In. Stanford makes a surprising jump to the First Four Out after nearly being forgotten about this season. Conference tournaments begin this week and next with Selection Sunday being next Sunday, not this coming up Sunday. It is my opinion that, in general, conference tournaments do not do a team any good if they are safely in the tournament as an at-large bid. If anything, it could potentially hurt you should you have an early exit. If you are on the bubble (Last Four In, First Four Out), then you have the opportunity to make a run in order to solidify as spot as an at-large, however, the possibility always looms of bid-stealers from conferences who only typically send one team to the tournament.
