There were a few changes in the BCS bowls this week thanks to “upsets” in the Pac-12 and Big 12. With Oregon’s loss to Arizona, Stanford is now headed to the Pac-12 title game and is the new favorite to go to the Rose Bowl. Oregon is still in the mix for an at-large BCS berth though. The Big 12 could get two squads in BCS bowls as well, but Baylor needs to rebound from their loss against Oklahoma State in order for that to be likely. It was a day of thrilling and impressive finishes and some of them had huge BCS bowl implications. The day began with Temple nearly upsetting UCF. Knights receiver J.J. Worton made an amazing touchdown catch with 1:06 remaining to tie the game. UCF then knocked through a clutch field goal to win 39-36. Baylor’s huge win over Oklahoma finally gives the Bears a bit of respect. They are not going to surpass Florida State, or even Ohio State on our board, in the rankings, but there is time. Baylor still plays Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Texas.
