Last Four In: Minnesota, Santa Clara, Boston College, Illinois
First Four Out: Duke, Marquette, Maryland, Texas
North Carolina continues its surge into the conversation for a top four national seed as they had little trouble in beating Duke 3-0 on Sunday. The Blue Devils are sitting at 7-7-1 and if they can’t stay at least at .500, they could potentially be a casualty of the ACC reducing the conference tournament to four teams. Boston College sneaks back into the tournament after getting wins over Louisville and NC State, but it will be in their best interest to get a sweep at Wake Forest and Duke next weekend just to be safe. The Big Ten continues to be a fascinating roller coaster as Maryland, while only having lost four times, has just five wins and have a battle for the bubble with Minnesota coming up next Friday along with trips to Wisconsin and Penn State. The Terrapins have a perfect opportunity to play their way well into the NCAA Tournament field.
