Last Four In: Maryland, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma
First Four Out: Louisville, St. John’s, Creighton, Michigan State
It was a rough, rough week for the WCC. The conference had opportunities to win some marquee games, but failed. BYU lost games against Baylor and Utah. Santa Clara lost to Notre Dame 2-0, which is certainly understandable, but then they had to crawl past Fresno State 4-3. Pepperdine tied Washington State and then lost to UCLA. And the other top WCC team, Portland, lost 3-0 to Wisconsin. The conference as a whole needs to pick up some better wins or earning seeds come tournament time will be extremely difficult.
