Last Four In: Elon, Syracuse Michigan, Charlotte
First Four Out: Saint Louis, Santa Clara, Old Dominion, George Mason
There were some fun upsets this week. It began on Thursday night when South Florida when an overtime thriller against Akron. The Zips tied Florida Gulf Coast later in the week and have dropped out of the seeded teams for now with an 0-2-1 start. On Friday, the big upset came in Westwood as UCLA lost to American. A struggling SMU also beat a struggling Duke team Friday night. Another top Pac-12 team fell on Sunday, again in overtime, when Saint Mary’s beat Washington 2-1. Of course it is very early, but so far we have learned that nobody looks unbeatable in 2014.
