It was an eventful opening weekend to kick off the 2014 Women’s College Soccer season. UCLA got off to a fantastic start with two easy wins over Maryland, and UC Irvine. Florida State was impressive defensively in wins over Portland and Minnesota. Cal and Washington got big signature wins for the Pac-12 by beating Santa Clara and Kentucky. Finally, Stanford made its case that it will be a threat for a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament as they finally beat North Carolina on Friday night in Chapel Hill.
