First Eight Out: Duke, Illinois State, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, UC Santa Barbara, Florida International, Wake Forest, Illinois
Teams have made their final pushes of the regular season and the field is pretty much set for the tournament. With that being said, the conference tournaments do provide teams with one final opportunity to join the field or secure their bubble place. Some teams that need a strong performance to stay in the field are Tennessee, North Carolina, and NC State. Tennessee has a big play-in game in the SEC Tournament with Vanderbilt on Tuesday and the two North Carolina schools face off in the opening round of the ACC Tournament. A loss for any of these teams could crush their at-large chances. Three ACC teams, Wake Forest, Duke, and Georgia Tech, all have the opportunity to join the field with strong performances in the ACC Tournament, and both West Virginia and Illinois will need to win some games in their respective tournaments to have a shot at joining the field.
