Last Eight In: Marquette, St. Joseph’s, Florida, Oklahoma, DePaul, BYU, St. John’s, Syracuse
First Eight Out: Saint Mary’s, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Washington State, Michigan, East Carolina, Texas, Arkansas
Not surprisingly, the ACC has already turned into a four team race. Duke, Notre Dame and Maryland are all undefeated in conference play and North Carolina has just one loss. The Tar Heels loss came against the Terrapins and that has been the only matchup between the big four so far this season. That means there is a long, long way to go in the ACC. Between February 2nd and March 2nd, the last day of the regular season in the conference, Duke plays five games against North Carolina, Notre Dame and Maryland. There will probably be two #1 seeds up for grabs in the ACC and it will likely come down to the ACC tournament before those four teams sort out their NCAA Tournament seedings.
