Xavier Gibson, Senior, Power Forward, Florida State University
Overview:
Gibson is one of the most skilled and imposing forwards in the ACC and has proven his ability on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court during the first three years of his career. Good lateral quickness around the basket allows him to cover a lot of ground quickly and easily which makes him an effective defender.
One stat that really stands out is his 56 blocked shots over the course of his college career so far. This just proves he can be a dominating force at the next level. Gibson has known nothing but success during his career as a Seminole where he has helped lead FSU to three NCAA Tournament bids including a trip to the 2011 Sweet 16 and an appearance in the 2009 ACC Championship game.
Final Projection:
The will to win and a hunger for success is contagious. Whatever team picks him up will get his winning attitude too. He has the will to win and a desire to be great. He can stretch NBA defenses out with his mid-range jumper and can do some damage off the pick and roll. Gibson will most likely slide to the end of the second round to a team that needs a force in the paint and clog up the middle. He is a diamond in the rough and a star in the waiting.
