Keith Tandy NFL Draft Profile

Keith Tandy NFL Draft Profile

Keith Tandy, Senior, Cornerback, West Virginia

Overview:

Keith Tandy has turned into a superb shutdown corner for West Virginia. He has been teamed up with another solid cornerback throughout his collegiate career in Brandon Hogan thus the big test for Tandy will come during his senior season when the pressure falls on his shoulders. By the end of his freshman campaign, Tandy was seeing some snaps on defense, but he spent most of that year playing on special teams.

The following season Tandy was a staple in the starting lineup. On the year he totaled three interceptions and broke up seven passes. Tandy really stepped up his game as an upperclassman. With Hogan on the corner, Tandy certainly got opportunities to make plays. He did just that by picking off six passes and breaking up 11. He also ranked fifth on the team with 57 tackles.

Final Projection:

Tandy tends to be in the right place at the right time. A majority of his interceptions come off tipped passes and he simply has a knack for finding the ball. The same concept works for Tandy’s impressive tackle totals. His great instincts lead him to the ball and he will make a play most of the time. At 5-10 and 198 pounds, Tandy has enough size to be a corner in the NFL. He is relatively fast too and if he can put it all together, Tandy should be a second round draft pick.
