David Fales, Senior, Quarterback, San Jose State
Overview:
David Fales has flown under the radar during his time at San Jose State. But the NFL likes any 6-3 pro style quarterback. Fales ended up with the Spartans after going through the junior college ranks. He stepped into a starting role in 2012 and threw for an eye-popping 4,193 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Fales will put up big, big numbers during his senior season at San Jose State in 2013. However, what is really impressive about Fales is his accuracy. He completed 72.5 percent of his attempts in 2012 and a year of experience in the system will only make him better.
Final Projection:
Fales will still have a lot to prove to the NFL during his senior campaign. He has had just one productive season at college’s highest level. Everybody wants to see more tape and they will get the chance. What they will see is a very accurate quarterback, but one who does not have great arm strength. The deep ball will continue to be a problem and for some NFL teams that will make Fales appear to be a system quarterback who is not worth a first round selection.
