12 Things We Learned from Baylor vs. UConn
So what did we learn in Baylor’s 76-70 win over the Connecticut women Monday night at the XL Center in Hartford:
- 1. Baylor is the best team in the country.
-
- 2. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis of UConn is their go to player scoring 26 points in the game.
-
- 3. No team can adequately defend Baylor's Brittney Griner.
-
- 4. Geno Auriemma is most likely to stay with a 2-3 zone if the two teams meet again.
-
- 5. Auriemma and Baylor's Kim Mulkey are the two top coaches in the game.
-
- 6. UConn frosh Morgan Tuck can play and will be a force to be reckoned with as the season progresses.
-
- 7. Griner is a far improved free throw shooter at crunch time.
-
- 8. Baylor can still win a game against top competition even if Griner and Odyssey Sims combine for 3-19 from the field in a half.
-
- 9. Griner, Sims and Mosqueda-Lewis are all first team All-Americans.
-
- 10. Baylor can execute in a half-court offense.
-
