Gibson is a well-rounded offensive threat with 58 hits, 13 home runs, 46 RBIs and 45 walks in her junior season. A career .349 hitter, she also has averaged 14 steals in 16 attempts the last two years. Add to those numbers only 20 strikeouts in 185 at-bats and there is a US National team member who will receive strong consideration in the draft.
Final Projection:
Plenty of statistics prove that Gibson can hit for average and power, and is selective enough at the plate, to take her game to the next level. A second baseman, Gibson’s sometimes questionable defensive decision making doesn’t show up in her .989 fielding percentage. Drafting teams will be looking at the overall potential contributions she offers, and will like what they see.
