Jenna Rich, Senior, Shortstop, Stanford
Throws: Right, Bats: Right
Overview:
Rich earned NFCA First Team All-West honors following a terrific 2012 season that saw her lead the Pac-12 with 66 RBIs. She belted 11 home runs and picked up 13 doubles and 4 triples for a slugging percentage of .665. Named a College Sports Madness Third Team Preason All-American, Rich’s .444 on base percentage last year will serve The Cardinal well as a hitter in the three-slot in her senior campaign.
Final Projection:
Drafting teams will like Rich’s power and speed. Although she doesn’t steal many bases, her 121 total bases in 2012 are a testament to how well she runs the bases. Rich’s listing as an “infielder/pitcher” is deceiving-her 4.69 ERA (19 apperances) as a freshman effectively put an end to her career in the circle, with only one appearance in each of the last two years.
