Top Five NCAA Basketball Coaches

It’s not an easy task to pick the five best NCAA basketball coaches, but here we go:

1. Geno Auriemma - The veteran University of Connecticut coach is the total package. He is a great recruiter, a better motivator and the consummate coach. He took over a program which had only one winning season and has led his team to seven NCAA titles and has coached six Naismith Players of the Year. His team once won 90 straight games, topping the UCLA record of 88.

2. Mike Krzyzewski - What more can the Duke coach do? Four NCAA Championships and two Olympic Golds as coach say it all. He is respected by all coaches and has been the major force in men's college basketball for at least the past two decades.

3. Kim Mulkey -The Baylor coach took over a team which had gone 7-20 and led them to the NCAA's in her first season. She has collected two NCAA titles and is poised for another this season. She is among the most charismatic coaches in the history of the game. Her recruitment of Brittney Griner proved her worth as one of the top recruiters in the game.

4. Brad Stevens – The Butler head man is one of the hottest coaches in the nation, coveted by many larger programs. He has taken his team to two Final Fours and one Championship Game and is only 36 years old. He is a great tactician.

5. John Beilein - The Michigan coach has spun his magic at the likes of the University of West Virginia and Richmond. One veteran official called him among the best coaches whom he had ever officiated. His teams are always prepared and this year he has a legitimate chance at a National Championship with a team with much depth and talent. He will win a National Championship before it is all said and done.
