Kyle Anderson NBA Draft Profile

Kyle Anderson, Freshman, Small Forward, UCLA

Overview:

In addition to pulling down Shabazz Muhammad, the Bruins bolstered their recruiting ranks when they inked this talented small forward to a letter of intent. Anderson committed all the way back in September, giving him plenty of time to enjoy his senior season at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, N.J. Anderson, who stands at 6-8 and 215, is one of the top-rated small forwards in the nation and is able to play anywhere on the floor. That is not surprising given his height, which is pretty tall for a small forward.

Anderson’s versatility on the court paid off handsomely with 17.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as St. Anthony went all the way to the championship game, won and capped a 32-0 season. This came on top of a junior year where Anderson scored 14.4 points and grabbed 7.5 rebounds. Seton Hall, St. John’s, Georgetown and Florida were also in on this hot recruit.

Final Projection:

Will Anderson get a chance to show off his versatility and skills to the fullest extent? A thumb and hand ligament injury has hampered Anderson throughout the spring and early summer, and it was still not known whether he would elect for surgery. If Anderson can find his shooting stroke without the surgery it might be a good season for him. Otherwise, Anderson might want to get the injury taken care of so he can have a solid freshman campaign. He should have a strong first year of college.
