Bennie Logan NFL Draft Profile

Bennie Logan NFL Draft Profile

Bennie Logan, Junior, Defensive Tackle, LSU

Overview:

After barely playing as a redshirt freshman in 2010, defensive tackle Bennie Logan earned a starting spot on LSU’s stellar defensive line. The 6-3, 287 pound tackle had plenty of competition for a starting spot at defensive tackle, but he won the job and kept it. On the year he tallied 51 tackles, including 5.0 tackles-for-loss and 2.0 sacks.

Logan is still a little green at this point in his career and, at 6-3 and 287 pounds, is not the typical NFL defensive tackle. He is quick enough to play on the outside at the next level and he may end up being a defensive end in the NFL.

Final Projection:

Logan is a tweener right now and that may limit which NFL teams are interested in him. He is not big enough for a tackle and is not a pure pass rusher that most teams want from a defensive end. He has plenty of time to fill out his 6-3 frame and emerge as a legitimate tackle or prove that he can develop his pass rushing skills. If he can do it in 2012, Logan could be eyeing the 2013 NFL Draft.
