Mychal Kendricks, Senior, Linebacker, California
Overview:
Mychal Kendricks is a tough, physical linebacker who played well during his collegiate days at California. He has a high motor and is very smart. He takes the proper path to the ball and knows how to play the game of football. He also has good instincts and is a solid athlete. He is a good tackler and has great speed, which allows him to make plays all over the field. He showed flashes of being adequate in coverage as well. He played both inside and outside backer in the Golden Bear’s 3-4 scheme, which gives him added value due to scheme versatility.
Final Projection:
Kendricks’ biggest knock is his lack of size. However that did not stop him from making plays in college and being very productive. His versatility and experience in a 3-4 scheme should add to his value. He has good speed and measured out well, other than his size, at the combine. Kendricks has the potential to be a second round selection, but could slide into the third due to his lack of size.
