Jeremy Baltz, Junior, Outfielder, St John’s
Overview
Jeremy Baltz put together one of the best years by any freshman in 2009 after refusing an offer from the New York Yankees. Baltz hit an amazing 24 home runs at St. John’s with an average of .396. That was his best year by far but he is developing a good sense of how to hit and stay patient. He can have a huge upside in the majors and may be the best hitter in this year’s draft.
Draft Projection
He is ranked as one of the top 15 outfielders in this year’s draft. If he has another season like he did in 2009 he won’t drop below the mid-second or early third rounds.
