Nick Perry, Junior, Defensive End, USC
Overview:
Nick Perry was one of the Trojans quickest defensive linemen, which is his greatest strength as a player. He played in all 12 of USC’s game and led them in sacks, with nine and a half. Perry also forced three fumbles on the year, as well as breaking up three passes. Perry is a great athlete who can project at either defensive end or outside linebacker at the next level.
Final Projection:
Perry excelled in his junior campaign and is ready to take his game to the NFL. He is very quick, which is the key to getting a successful pass rush. One of his greatest assets is his versatility. This helps his draft stock because he is a player who can fit in either of the main defensive schemes in the NFL, as he can play end in a 4-3 scheme, or an outside backer in a 3-4. Either way, he looks to wind up being a first round selection and make an impact as a pass rusher as a rookie.
