Cordy Glenn NFL Draft Profile

2012 NFL Draft Profiles

Cordy Glenn, Senior, Offensive Tackle, Georgia

Georgia Team Page

Overview:

Over the past four years, the Georgia Bulldogs have played a total of 53 football games. Senior offensive tackle Cordy Glenn has played in each and every one of those. Culminating in a 2011 season that saw him make third team All-American and first team All-SEC, Glenn was a stalwart on the line of the SEC East champions.

Standing on this earth at a robust 6’5”, 348 pounds, there is a lot of Cordy Glenn that makes NFL scouts happy. Playing left tackle, rather successfully, is also key to his draft stock as linemen able to play that position are infinitely more valuable than their inside or right side counterparts.

Final Projection:

Glenn is not quite on the level of some of the other offensive tackles heading into the draft process. Whether it be because of quickness, strength, footwork or what have you, he does not quite make the top tier grade like Matt Kalil or Jonathan Martin. With that said, Cordy Glenn could hope to be the first senior OT off the board on draft day, somewhere in the thick of round two.

3/17/12 Update:

Glenn could have played his way into the first round with his solid showing at the NFL Combine. There are still huge questions about whether or not he can play left tackle in the NFL. His NFL Combine showing would lead many to believe that he can, but his game tape says otherwise. Some teams will have him much higher on their board because they have him as a left tackle. Others will have him firmly in the second round. But, of course, it only takes one team.
