Lamar Miller, Sophomore, Running Back, Miami
Overview:
Lamar Miller, a redshirt sophomore, wrapped up a successful season by rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Boston College. On the year he rushed for 1,335 yards, third best in the storied history of Miami. He was a second team All-ACC running back. Miller is a powerful runner who also has good speed. He has been a workhorse for the Hurricanes, carrying the ball 227 times on the year, including a game where he had 27 carries.
Final Projection:
Miller is a talented halfback, who has ideal size for an NFL running back. In the pass happy NFL, the running back position has seen their collective draft stock drop each year. However, as Miller caught 17 balls on the year, he has demonstrated good hands for his position, which should help his draft stock. He should wind up hearing his name called early in the second round.
