Montee Ball, Junior, Running Back, Wisconsin
Overview:
Montee Ball had one of the best seasons a running back could ever had. He rushed for nearly 2,000 yards, tied the record for the most touchdowns scored in a single season, and was a Heisman finalist. Ball possesses an outstanding blend of size, speed, and strength. He has good vision and acceleration as well. He is a physical runner and rarely fumbles. Ball’s work ethic and character is unquestioned. He is decent in pass protection, but is an above average receiver out of the backfield. He has a nose for the end zone and will do what it takes to cross the goal line.
Final Projection:
Ball has all the tools to be a successful NFL running back in today’s day and age. Teams may be scared to draft him because typically Wisconsin running backs do not do as well in the NFL as they do in college, as he has been the beneficiary of a premier offensive line. However, the running back position is diluted in this year’s draft class, so expect Ball to be a second round draft choice.
