Brittany Mack, Senior, Pitcher, LSU
Overview:
Brittany Mack has had to bide her time a little bit while working her way up the LSU pitching pecking order. Yet, even back as a freshman the big right handed pitcher started 14 games and made 28 appearances. She tallied nine complete games out of those 14 starts and ended the year with a 2.36 earned run average. As a sophomore Mack did not play quite as much, but when she did, Mack was nearly impossible to hit. By 2011 there was no doubt that Mack was the ace of the Tigers staff. On the year she started 27 games with 17 complete games and six shutouts. In 184.2 innings, she struck out 209 batters and finished the year with 20 wins.
Final Projection:
At 5-10, Mack is a big pitcher and that can be intimidating to many hitters at any level. Her size and ability to use that size to her advantage makes her one of the best, if not the best, pitchers in this draft class. Mack may have some competition for the top pitcher taken in the NPF Draft, but she should be right in the mix.
