Oklahoma State: Two Wins Away From The National Championship Game

Just two games stand between Oklahoma State and a trip to the BCS National Championship game. Following the Cowboys 66-6 win at Texas Tech, many outside of Stillwater are starting to believe that OSU can beat Oklahoma on December 3rd. If that happens, as College Sports Madness is now forecasting in the latest Bowl Projections, Coach Mike Gundy and company will certainly get a shot at the national title. But first there is the Iowa State game on Friday night. The Cyclones will be at home and are coming off of a bye week and two straight victories. However, winning in College Station does not mean what it did a few weeks ago and beating Kansas at home by three is nothing to write home about. But ISU is a win away from bowl eligibility and they also have trips to Oklahoma and Kansas State on the schedule. The Cyclones will be looking to pull off an upset somewhere and what better place than a nationally televised Friday game on senior night?

But let us assume the Cowboys beat Iowa State, as they should. Then it all comes down to the Sooners. Unlike Oklahoma, the Cowboys will enjoy a week to prepare for that big time showdown with everything on the line. Oklahoma State has lost eight straight to their in-state rivals, but if that streak is ever going to end, this looks like the year. How interesting would an LSU vs. Oklahoma State National Championship game be? The Cowboys offense going up against the Tigers defense would be an epic battle.
