Five-Star Power Forward Alex Poythress Commits to Kentucky
The Kentucky Wildcats secured a valuable commitment today when they found out that power forward Alex Poythress wants to play for Coach Cal in Lexington. The 6'8" 215 pound physical specimen picked Kentucky over Florida, Memphis, and Vanderbilt. The Clarksville Northeast (TN) star will be a big-time athlete in the program. He runs the floor like a gazelle and will use his large wingspan to be an impact player immediately on the defensive end. The Mr. Basketball finalist in the state of Tennessee averaged 23.5 points and 12 rebounds a game last season for his high school team. He joins fellow top 50 national recruits Archie Goodwin and Willie Cauley in the Kentucky 2012 recruiting class.
