Wofford’s Loss at Furman has Things Shifting Atop The Madness Playoff Bracket
Wofford’s loss at Furman has things shifting atop the College Sports Madness playoff bracket. Wofford, who was the third seed in the bracket heading into the week, was upset by the Paladins on Saturday. The Terriers tried to mount a fourth quarter comeback, but Furman back Tersoo Uhaa rushed for a touchdown with under ten minutes to play to give his team a 26-14 lead. The Terriers scored again with about five minutes left in the game, but would not score again.
That leaves two Southern Conference teams left in the top five, but those two will not stay on top of the rankings as #2 Georgia Southern heads to #5 Appalachian State this week. The big games have arrived as the top teams in the playoff bracket look to hold on to a seeded spot. Wofford still has Georgia Southern on the schedule, while #1 Northern Iowa will take on #4 North Dakota State this week. Furman may have shaken up the top of the bracket projections this week, but there is a lot more shaking to be done next week and in the weeks to come.
