Big East Football Week 7 Breakdown
Lock of the Week: South Florida at Connecticut
The Huskies have struggled so far this year and South Florida is still seeking revenge after being humiliated by Pittsburgh. For South Florida, a dominate performance here would be a good way to get back on track, and that is exactly what they will be seeking to do. Watch for South Florida to put on a show offensively, as both quarterback B.J. Daniels and running back Darrell Scott steal the show.

Upset Alert! Navy at Rutgers
This game all depends on what Navy team shows up. Will it be the team that got annihilated by Southern Miss 63-35 or the team that went into South Carolina and only lost by a field goal? This Navy team has shown they have talent, but it remains to be seen if they can display that talent on a weekly basis. Rutgers is a talented 4-1 team, coming off a great victory over the Panthers. Making the win more impressive was the fact they were without starting quarterback Chas Dodd. The Scarlet Knights will continue to lean on junior wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to dominate the games offensively, and he is a player Navy must find an answer to.
Game of the Week! Utah at Pittsburgh
Utah has gotten smacked in the Pac-12 this year, failing to record a win. Now it is their time to flex their muscles and prove they are still a talented and dangerous team. The Panthers are a hot and cold team, demonstrating just how good they can be with a win over South Florida. The Big East needs the Panthers to win this game to prove they can still hang with the other power conferences. The Panthers will continue to rely on their rushing attack, led by junior Ray Graham who has put up video games like numbers so far this year, rushing for an average of six yards per carry and nine touchdowns. The power of Graham will propel the Panthers to victory in this contest, as the Big East helps save some face.

Louisville at Cincinnati
Louisville is struggling early, compiling a 2-3 record. Their defense has played great, ranking 13th in the nation in points against, but their offense has failed to produce for them. The Bearcats are off to a solid 4-1 start, and are 9th in the nation in points for, and 15th in the nation in points against. This makes for a dangerous combination. Cincinnati’s rushing attack has been dominating, averaging 220.8 yards a game, good for 16th in the nation. They will continue to rely on senior tailback Isaiah Pead, who has averaged 6.6 yards per carry and has crossed the goal line seven times. The Bearcats will win this game because they have the better offense and the better rushing attack. They will capitalize on any mistake Louisville might make.
