Early Predictions Ahead of Season’s NFL Playoffs
While we are only two weeks into the 2021 season now is as good a time as any to start thinking about the NFL Playoffs. While all the teams play a hard regular season with the hope of making the playoffs, it is an honor that only a select few will be privy to. It is not only diehard football fans who are already predicting who will make it to the sacred playoffs but bookmakers as well. Here’s a closer look at some early-on predictions of who will and who won’t make it to the NFL playoffs this season.
Will it go as Predicted in the NFC
Early predictions for the National Football Conference seem to consist of a number of easy picks. The Green Bay Packers are, for instance, expected to have an easy run in the North although they have to contend with a grueling regular season schedule. The Dallas Cowboys are current favorites in the East with Dak Prescott expected to lead the team to the playoffs. It is slightly more difficult to predict the winner in the West although both the 49ers and the Seahawks both being exceptionally strong contenders. The Los Angeles Rams may cause an upset though thanks to their impressive defense that is yet to let them down this season. With the South featuring some of the weakest contenders of the season, the Buccaneers should have very little difficulty in ending at the top of their log.
Some Interesting Predictions for the AFC
For some reason, it is not quite as easy to predict the outcome of the AFC as it is the NFC. At the moment, both regular predictions and betting odds are touting the Ravens and Steelers as the two teams to watch in the North with the Browns being an underdog worth watching. In the East, the win will more than likely come from the Buffalo Bills or Miami Dolphins although the Patriots may pull a few tricks out of their hat. The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t likely to face much opposition in the West with the LA Chargers being the most likely to secure second place. Down South, The Titans have already been mentioned as possible Super Bowl champs which makes it rather obvious that they are predicted to win their division as well.
Don’t Forget About the Wildcards
Both the NFC and AFC will have three Wildcard picks for the playoffs. As far as the NFC is concerned, the predictions for the three wildcards are very obvious. The San Francisco 49ers have been showing great form and are bound to make the playoffs as a wildcard entry. The other two WC’s will more than likely go to the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Football Team. On the AFC side, the three teams predicted to be handed a spot in the playoffs thanks to a Wildcard include the LA Chargers, New England Patriots, and the Miami Dolphins that is expected to edge out other notable teams.
Predictions for the NFL playoffs have been circulating before the first game of the season was even concluded. While it may still be early days it will be very interesting to see how accurate these predictions turn out to be.
