The Usual Teams Favored in March Madness 2021
Sports are finally back upon us which means betting on sports has returned as well. The 2021 NCAA Tournament could be the most gambled on sporting event in years. Assuming the Tournament does indeed take place in 2021, it will be the first time in two years that it’s happened and people will be itching to bet on the results. Once we get to that stage again, crypto betting on the games will be as big as ever. Once that happens, it’ll be important to know which teams to put money on.
The strongest tournament teams are typically the more experienced squads with high-end guard play and defense. The best contenders entering this season are Baylor, Villanova, Gonzaga, Virginia along with the usual suspects such as Michigan State, Kansas, Duke and Kentucky. Baylor may have been the favorites last season and they will return most of their production this season. Gonzaga and Villanova are consistently in the mix for a championship and both will have experienced squads this season. Virginia had a bit of a down year last season but their always-tough defense remained and their offense will be much improved in 2021. Teams relying on freshmen are typically a red flag in the tournament, but Duke and Kentucky have proven to be able to win on the big stage with one-and-done phenoms. Some dark horse candidate teams would include Houston, Florida State, West Virginia and Illinois. All four teams were fringe competitors last season with a bulk of their production returning and all have notoriously solid defenses. In any event, it will be thrilling to be able to watch and bet on the NCAA Tournament yet again.
