Last Eight In: VCU, Texas, Tennessee, Georgetown, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Stanford, BYU
First Eight Out: Utah State, Purdue, Georgetown, DePaul, Miami (FL), Minnesota, North Carolina, LSU
The big winner this week was Kentucky, who knocked off Louisville on Saturday. Following back-to-back losses to Utah and Ohio State, the Wildcats were quickly slipping down the rankings. Kentucky has been extremely inconsistent this year with some very good wins against the likes of Michigan State and now Louisville, but there are already a couple bad losses on the resume too. With SEC play starting this week, Kentucky’s younger players will need play more consistently if they are going to compete for a conference title and high seed in the NCAA Tournament.
