The big story this week was Oklahoma’s shocking loss to Kansas State. That seriously hurts Oklahoma’s chances to reach the playoffs, even if they manage to win out from here. For now that leaves Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and Clemson in the playoffs. Of course those two SEC teams face off on November 9th and that could change the playoff picture. However, the loser of that game will likely not play in the SEC title game and a one-loss non-champion LSU or Alabama could certainly get a long look for a playoff spot, even over a one-loss conference champion Oklahoma. That will be an issue for the committee to worry about if that scenario plays out, but first there is a long way to go in the regular season.
