There were some huge upsets across the college football landscape on Saturday, but none were bigger than South Carolina shocking Georgia between the hedges. That knocks Georgia out of the playoffs for now and could leave a lot of questions for the selection committee. Right now we project LSU to finish with one regular season loss, at Alabama, and finish the regular season 11-1. The Tigers would then not play for a conference title and head into the playoffs with an 11-1 record. Would the committee take a 12-1 conference champion like Oklahoma or Ohio State over an 11-1 LSU? Of course that question would be moot if both OU and OSU win out, but that seems unlikely with some tough games ahead. Once again we may be asking the question how important is it to win, or at least play for, the conference title?
