Georgia Tech has not been at their best the last few years. After seven straight tournament appearances from 2008 to 2014, the Yellow Jackets have been to just one regional since then. Last year Georgia Tech did manage to finish above .500 after a tumultuous 2017 campaign. Now they hope to take the next step back into ACC relevance. This group has more experience than the last couple of years, but they do not have catcher Joey Bart, who hit .359 with 16 homeruns last season.

Andy Archer, P, 3.64 ERA, 4-0 W/L, 57.0 IP, 41 SO

Projection:
Connor Thomas and Xzavion Curry should be one of the more potent pitching duos in the ACC. Thomas went 7-4 last year with a 3.34 ERA. In 97.0 innings of work he struck out 106 and walked just ten batters. That is an impressive ratio. Curry made 15 starts last season and went 8-4 with a 4.18 ERA. Georgia Tech should still have a potent offense even without Bart and Wade Bailey. Kyle McCann will be the new leader at the plate after hitting .300 with 15 homeruns and 45 RBIs. Chase Murray, Tristin English and Austin Wilhite also belted six homeruns each last season. Murray hit .343 last season, which was good enough to rank fifth in the ACC. English is certainly a player to watch too. He led the team with 60 RBIs during his sophomore season he also started nine games on the mound. He is one of the best two way players in the nation and should make a big impact at the plate and on the mound. If all the pieces come together, Georgia Tech should climb up the ACC pecking order enough to finally get back to the NCAA Tournament after two very long seasons.
