The top team in the nation faced off against the #2 team on Thursday night. That is not a rare occasion in women’s college basketball, this being the 59th of all time, but it is rare that neither of those teams were Connecticut. Louisville traveled to South Bend and Notre Dame had a strong second half to pull away for an 82-68 victory. Arike Ogunbowale scored 26 of her game high 30 points in the second half and fueled that strong third and fourth quarter for the Irish. That makes Notre Dame the clear #1 team in the country, but they will be tested a few more times in the tough ACC.
