Connecticut has now won 88 games in a row after winning a hard fought game on the road at Maryland on Thursday night and dominating UCF down in Orlando on Sunday. The Huskies got a big time performance from Katie Lou Samuelson in the win over the Terrapins as Samuelson scored 17 of her 23 points in the second half to lead Connecticut to victory. Another key for the Huskies was the 58.8 percent field goal shooting percentage in the second half and they needed every bit of that 58.8 percent shooting as Maryland shot 54.3 percent from the field. Oregon State reminded the Pac-12 on Sunday that they are going to be a force to be reckoned with as they outlasted Washington 73-70. Sydney Wiese led the Beavers with 26 points and Gabriella Hanson did a great job of slowing down Kelsey Plum defensively to set the tone from the opening tipoff for Oregon State. Stanford got out of Tempe on Friday with a hard fought 64-57 win as the Cardinal did an excellent job offensively of avoiding any extended costly cold shooting streaks against the Sun Devils. North Carolina State upset Notre Dame 70-62 on Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh as the Wolfpack snapped the Fighting Irish’s 35 game winning streak in ACC play. North Carolina State played fearless and executed at a high level with Dominque Wilson leading a very balanced offensive attack with 18 points for the Wolfpack.
