Week 4 Ivy League Football Preview
Princeton at Lehigh – This should be a high scoring game. Lehigh bombed a strong Penn team, picking up 34 first downs compared 18 for their foe. Princeton won a thriller with Chad Kanoff throwing for 160 yards.
Projected Score: Lehigh 34, Princeton 28
Columbia at Georgetown – The Hoyas are off to a 2-0 start, including an impressive 38-14 opening win over Davidson. Columbia suffered a narrow loss. The Georgetown program is on the rise.
Projected Score: Georgetown 30, Columbia 20
Yale at Cornell – This is the first Ivy game of the year for both teams. Yale was awful at home against Colgate, especially in the defensive backfield and they had to use three quarterbacks on offense. Rafe Chapple has now won the starting job. Cornell is off to a 1-0 start, equaling its win total from 2015. Yale has more talent.
Projected Score: Yale 33, Cornell 30
Harvard at Brown – Harvard is the class of the Ivies and now number 19 in the Coaches Poll. Semar Smith ran all over the field in a rout of Rhode Island. Brown beat Bryant, but does not have the skill players possessed by Harvard.
Projected Score: Harvard 33, Brown 19
Dartmouth at Holy Cross - They have a common opponent and the Green beat New Hampshire and Holy Cross fell to them. Dartmouth is once again very strong on both sides of the ball. Peter Pujals is a dominant quarterback for the home team.
Projected Score: Dartmouth 35, Holy Cross 30
Penn at Fordham - This is not a vintage Fordham team (1-1), but they can score off the pass and run, even against Navy. Penn lost to a strong Lehigh team, but star quarterback Alek Torgersen was once again a major factor in the game.
Projected Score: Penn 36, Fordham 30
