First Eight Out: Purdue, St. Bonaventure, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Santa Clara, Texas Tech, Auburn, Arizona
Teams like Ohio State and Tennessee may find themselves down a bit in the top 25, but those are two teams who are still in the mix for a top seed come March. The Volunteers have losses to Texas and Virginia Tech, but it is their sluggish offense that is a cause for concern going forward. But if that problem can be solved, the Lady Vols will remain in contention for an SEC title and a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. This week will be very telling for Tennessee with trips to Stanford and Oregon State on the docket. They have a non-conference game against Notre Dame in mid-January too and, of course, the SEC will be as brutal as ever. The way they are playing now, Tennessee will struggle in all of those games. However, this is Tennessee and they will get it figured out sooner than later.
