Week 8 Football Bowl Projection Breakdown
Utah’s loss to USC puts them out of the playoff picture for now. A one-loss Pac-12 team should be in the playoffs, but it will be tough for Utah or Stanford to run the gauntlet in the Pac-12. Although the possibility of those two both having one loss heading into the Pac-12 title game would basically make the Pac-12 title game a play-in game for the playoffs. But no Pac-12 team with one loss would presumably leave a spot open for a team like Clemson. And Clemson, unlike Florida State, is actually a really, really good team that can compete with anybody in the country. The Seminoles shocking loss to Georgia Tech closed the door on their playoff hopes, but they are still in prime position to go to the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl should Clemson reach the playoffs.
