Last Eight In: Arkansas, Cal State Fullerton, California, Coastal Carolina, Connecticut, Houston, UCF, UC Irvine
First Eight Out: Alabama, Bradley, Kentucky, Liberty, Long Beach State, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tulane
Last weekend was big for a few teams that found themselves squarely on the bubble. Radford took two of three from Coastal Carolina to move into first place in the Big South and made this week’s regional projections as a result. Virginia and Rice both had struggled in recent weeks, but both won their weekend series. Virginia’s series win over Miami was especially impressive, as they overcame ace Nathan Kirby leaving his start after just three innings due to injury. In the SEC, Arkansas and South Carolina each won series over projected regional hosts. Arkansas rebounded from a series opening loss to win the final two games of their series with Texas A&M and South Carolina did the same with Vanderbilt. If those teams can build off those series wins moving forward, you can expect to see all five teams in the NCAA Tournament next month.
