10 | Notre Dame | Speaking of tough draws, it turned out that way for the Irish too, who had to play a destined UVA team. | ||
11 | Washington | Arguably, Washington could have been ranked higher than #14, but they struggled with Furman and lost to MSU. | ||
12 | Xavier | The Musketeers upset Indiana in the second round after beating Monmouth in the first. They lost to Creighton. | ||
13 | California | Cal gave UCLA a good battle in the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament, but were eliminated with a 3-2 defeat. | ||
14 | UC Irvine | UC Irvine capped off a strong season by upsetting Stanford in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. | ||
15 | Clemson | Clemson knocked off Coastal Carolina in their second round opener, but then ran into North Carolina. | ||
16 | Stanford | Stanford's extremely brief stay in the NCAA Tournament ended what was a very strong season for the Cardinal. | ||
17 | Indiana | Indiana earned the #5 seed in the tournament, but were upset in their opener at home to Xavier. | ||
18 | Louisville | Louisville beat St. Louis in their first NCAA Tournament game, but then ran into a UMBC defense they could not crack. | ||
19 | Maryland | After their extremely strong finish to the regular season, Maryland failed to win a game in the tournament. | ||
20 | Charlotte | Charlotte was first ranked victim of North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament, losing 2-1 in the Second Round. | ||
21 | Saint Louis | Saint Louis failed to make a big tournament run, but they were the class of the A-10. | ||
22 | Penn State | Penn State was able to get a tournament win over Hartwick in the first round before falling to Syracuse. | ||
23 | Northwestern | The Wildcats had an up and down season and it ended on a down as they lost in the First Round of the tournament. | ||
24 | Kentucky | Like most of the Conference USA, Kentucky had a brief tournament appearance. They fell 2-0 against Oakland. | ||
25 | North Carolina-Wilmington | UNCW got a nice 2-0 win over Bucknell in the First Round before running into a great Virginia squad. | ||
